Course Description:
The Environmental Health & Safety Academy is a unique 40-hour course designed to provide you with the general skills needed to identify, evaluate and control safety and health hazards, particularly those found in academic settings. This is a wonderful learning opportunity for new safety professionals in any setting.

Conference Learning Objectives:
At the end of the EH&S Academy training course, participants should be able to:
  • Describe how universities operate and implement safety programs within the unique university working environment
  • Summarize the basic knowledge and procedures associated with university risk management & ins/rance, fire & life safety, radiation, chemical and biological safety and environmental protection programs
  • Develop key performance measures and metrics of a safety program
  • Determine the most appropriate strategies of presenting performance measures and metrics to key constituencies
  • Identify the most common safety compliance issues encountered on university campuses
  • Choose the most appropriate strategies to prevent safety problems
